So about 7 mothns ago I was involved in an accident where I was making a left turn and another driver hit the side of my car and totaled both his and my car. Since I was making the turn it is automatically my fault even though the other guy was on his phone and driving like a mad man. Anyways i found out today that he was uninsured at the time of the accident. My insurance company wanted to pay for his medical bills, which there were almost none but he refused to take the money. They also told me that CA law says that since he's uninsured he can't collect any money from my insurance company other than for the medical bills. So my agent told me that he might try suing me for those bills and god knows what else. Does anyone know anything about that? CA laws about uninsured motorists? btw he was not injured at the time of the accident and he claimed he had a nose bleed when he exited the car after the accident which i have about 5 witnesses that can testify otherwise.
